Causelink Release Notes

Causelink Version 1.1.335 was released on March 16, 2012.  

IMPROVEMENTS SINCE LAST RELEASE

  • Home screen - changed to table-based layout
  • Chart and Report Print - added Save as PDF
  • Chart Print - added Print to one page feature
  • Chart Print - added Cause box scaling
  • Chart Print - added a visual indicator for page placement in multi-page printing
  • Chart and Report Print - improved print preview
  • Copy to clipboard added on report screens and in report print sidebar
  • Display the RCA Name value in the Causelink titlebar
  • Sidebar, toolbar, and print options - adjusted order 
  • Added Design element to make it clearer that you can drag/drop causes to Causes sidebar
  • Evidence type - changed 'photo' to 'Photo/Video'
  • Causes sidebar - changed unconnected to 'Cause Storage' and connected to 'Causes on Chart'
  • Cause types - adjust order in legend and cause box cause type selector
  • Added logging to help with future troubleshooting.  Also, adjusted so log files are deleted after 2 weeks.
  • Added a database backup mechanism
  • The application is fully localized with the exception of the installation program, which will be ready with the V1.1 gold release.

BUG FIXES SINCE LAST RELEASE

The following issues have been resolved since the December  22nd, 2011 release of Causelink.

  •  Keyboard - can't enter @ on swedish keyboard
  • Chart Sidebar: New Items can't be added in the Sidebar text fields until tab clicked on chart.
  • Report - Shift + tab not working
  • Chart: Cause box alerts should match cause box actions.
  • Chart: Scroll-bar in Sidebar is cut off on the right side.
  • Report: Enter button not functioning in "Report Summary" and "Cause and Effect Summary".
  • Chart: dragging cause-box past a border makes chart move in the opposite direction.
  • Sidebar and Chart: Cancel button does not remove evidence or solutions.
  • Sidebar - Report: Evidence Action Item count does not immediately decrement in Chart Quality.
  • Report: Cause and Effect Summary text not being saved.
  • Sidebar: Old data still in Chart Quality Report Summaries.
  • License & Register: Getting "Could not add the registration" message.
  • Chart Print Preview: Clicking Report before Cancel displays Report under Print Preview.
  • Report: "Implement" count and cost not adjusting immediately in Sidebar after deselecting checkbox.
  • Report Print Preview: Clicking Chart before Cancel displays Report icons on the Chart.
  • Sidebar: Tabbing on Chart visually alters the sidebar.
  • Causelink Updates: Update dialog in "Help, Causelink Updates" should be more user friendly.
  • chart - ctrl+arrow to causes off screen
  • Report: Solutions Cost field displays NaN when non-numeric characters are entered.
  • Chart - unable to scroll entire chart
  • Sidebar: Solutions Criteria pop-up list not working.
  • Update - Update message says newer version available when the current version is the latest.
  • Cause box - action to terminate cause exists when it shouldn't
  • Report: Sidebar Problem Statement not updating until leaving and returning to report page.
  • Trial Period: Message has misspelled word.
  • Problems with registration
  • Legend visible on home screen
  • When evidence is assigned to a team member who is then deleted the RCA appears to lose data
  • Report: Calendar remains open when clicking to other areas or pages.
  • Home: Scroll-bar gone when returning to Home from Chart.
  • Fix layout issues associated with pt-BR and es
  • Import: Importing an RCA with a blank RCA Name does not open.
  • Configure Causelink to handle corrupt data gracefully
  • Installation - for updates detect previous settings
  • Sidebar: tabs and scroll-bar disappear when re-sizing window.

KNOWN ISSUES

The following are known issues with the Version 1.1.335 Beta release of Causelink.

  • Vertical lines sometimes appear in cause boxes. These disappear when you edit the text or zoom in or out.
  • In the sidebar, Chart Quality sometimes shows "Blank Cause" for renamed cause boxes.
  • If you permanently delete an RCA, the report summaries from that file will appear in the sidebar of the new RCA.  This goes away when you enter text into these report fields.
  • Dragging a cause box past the sidebar results in movement of the sidebar.
  • When you drag and drop a cause, sometimes the chart will shift position.
  • If you type enough text without a space into a cause box it will overflow the cause box boundaries.
  • Performance can become an issue when working with large RCAs.
  • Edit > Undo from the menu doesn't work if you have not changed the focus of your cursor before clicking the menu
  • Report: tabbing after a date is selected with the mouse puts the cursor back to the top.
  • Re-sizing the software window before Causelink is fully loaded may cause a crash
  • Clicking undo on the chart after deleting a cause does not reset the cause count in the sidebar
  • XP users with DPI settings at 120 see the right and lower portion of the application cut off
  • Users with locale settings that aren't defined in the application see their calendar default to Spanish

 

Causelink Version 1.0.252 was released on December 22, 2011.

  • Launch: Getting message to update when the current version is the latest.
  • Tab order in registration screen
  • Sidebar:  rounded the average quality to 2 decimals
  • 'activate license by phone' link and functionality
  • Toolbar - legend checkbox not always in synch

  • When you prepare your document for printing within Causelink, when you click "print" the printer dialog appears.  You must match the orientation in the print dialog with the orientation you had set within Causelink. For example:  if you selected landscape, you must select landscape within the printer dialog window.  
  • In the sidebar, Chart Quality sometimes shows "Blank Cause" for renamed cause boxes.

Processor: Minimum Intel Pentium III 1 GHz or faster; Recommended Pentium 4, 2 GHz.
Operating System: Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1, Windows XP SP2 & SP3.
Memory: Minimum 512 MB of RAM; Recommended 1 GB of RAM.

KNOWN ISSUES

The following are known issues with the current release of Causelink.

  • Vertical lines sometimes appear in cause boxes. These disappear when you edit the text or zoom in or out.
  • Importing a file that contains double quotes (") will remove the double quotes.
  • When you prepare your document for printing within Causelink, when you click "print" the printer dialog appears.  You must match the orientation in the print dialog with the orientation you had set within Causelink. For example:  if you selected landscape, you must select landscape within the printer dialog window.

  • Users who activated their license by phone will see a "Could not add the registration" message when they attempt to register.
  • The Causelink update service will sometimes prompt you to download an update when none is available.
  • In Help > Register Product the "activate your license by phone" link is not working.
  • If you permanently delete an RCA, the report summaries from that file will appear in the sidebar of the new RCA.  This goes away when you enter text into these report fields.
  • The sidebar content sometimes does not update when you expect it to after making a change to the RCA.
  • The legend checkbox toggle can get out of synch.
  • Dragging a cause-box past the workspace border makes chart move in the opposite direction. 
  • Dragging a cause box past the sidebar results in movement of the sidebar.
  • The enter button in the report is not functioning in "Report Summary" and "Cause and Effect Summary".
